SE Ranking, Semrush and Ahrefs track Google AI Overviews by keyword inside an SEO suite. Peec AI and Otterly.AI add prompts. Nine trackers checked on their own sites, plus free ways to check.
The best AI Overviews trackers for B2B in 2026 are SE Ranking for the lowest-priced keyword tracker, Semrush and Ahrefs if you already use their SEO suite, and Advanced Web Ranking for agencies. Peec AI and Otterly.AI track AI Overviews by prompt, next to ChatGPT. You can also check by hand for free.
We read each tool's own pricing and feature pages on 1 November 2026, and every entry links to the page we read. Some prices were shown to us in euros. After the list: free ways to check, and a separate section on Rank Monthly, which is not a tracker.
Enterprise teams that want AIO inside a full platform
What does an AI Overviews tracker do?
An AI Overview is the AI summary Google shows above the normal results for some searches. It cites a few pages. A tracker checks a list of your searches on a schedule and records three things: whether an AI Overview appears, whether your site is cited or your brand is named, and which other pages are cited instead.
Trackers work in one of two ways. Keyword trackers check short Google searches, the way your rank tracker already does, and show the AI Overview next to your position. Prompt trackers run longer questions and treat AI Overviews as one engine next to ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity (this is prompt tracking).
Google AI Mode is a separate surface: a full chat answer instead of a summary above the links. SE Ranking says on its AI Mode tracker page that AI Mode and AI Overviews rely on different sources, so it is worth tracking both.
How did we rank these AI Overviews trackers?
We scored each tool on five things a B2B team needs, in this order of weight:
AI Overviews depth: keyword tracking, prompt tracking or both, and how many searches you can check.
Google AI Mode on the plan you can actually buy, not only on Enterprise.
Citation data: which pages the AI Overview cites, yours and your competitors', and a saved copy of the answer.
B2B fit: competitors, several countries, reports and an API for a marketing team or agency.
Public price: can you see what you will pay before a sales call?
We did not test accuracy ourselves. AI Overviews change often, so any number a tool shows is a sample.

A 7-day trial needs no card.
Good

Best for: Enterprise SEO teams with large keyword sets
seoClarity lists which of your tracked keywords show an AI Overview, which sources it cites, yours or a competitor's, and how mentions and citations changed between dates. Its ArcAI add-on tracks ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Mode, AI Overviews and Gemini, from 500 prompt queries. All pricing is by quote; its platform page shows packages from $2,500 a month, marked representative as of October 2022.

Best for: Enterprise teams that want AIO inside a full platform
Profound's free trial runs 50 prompts daily for 7 days on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. Enterprise adds AI Mode, up to 9 answer engines, API, SSO and SOC 2. There is no public Enterprise price.
You don't need a paid tool to start. These four routes cost nothing:
Search by hand. Run your 10 key searches in a private window and note which pages the AI Overview cites. Repeat weekly.
Use Search Console. Google says on its AI features page that clicks and impressions from AI Overviews and AI Mode count in the Performance report, under the "Web" search type. They are not shown separately.
Pay for a tracker when you need history, competitors and more than a handful of keywords.
Why does tracking AI Overviews matter for B2B?
AI Overviews take clicks from the results below them. In Ahrefs' February 2026 study of 300,000 keywords, the top-ranking page had a 58% lower click-through rate when Google showed an AI Overview. Being cited in the overview seems to help:
120%
more organic clicks per impression for brands cited in Google's AI Overview than for brands that aren't.
That figure, from Seer Interactive's April 2026 update covering 53 brands, is a correlation, not proof that citations cause clicks. Watch whether the AI Overview cites you or a competitor, not only your position. This is part of zero-click search.
Which AI Overviews tracker should you pick?
You want keyword tracking at the lowest price: SE Ranking.
You already pay for an SEO suite: use Semrush Position Tracking or Ahrefs Brand Radar before buying another tool.
You run an agency and report rankings to clients: Advanced Web Ranking.
You care about buyer questions across Google and ChatGPT: Peec AI, or Otterly.AI to test for under $50 a month.
You are an enterprise SEO team with very large keyword sets: seoClarity, or Profound for a wider AI platform.
A tracker shows where you are missing. It does not change the answer.
For buyer questions, most cited pages are not the brand's own. In a Prefer study from July 2026, 40% of the sources AI assistants cited for buyer questions were independent lists. Vendors' own sites got 34%, review sites 3%. The study covered 188 answers from four assistants.
So the useful output of a tracker is the list of cited pages. Acting on it means improving your own pages and getting onto third-party pages through their publishers. Our guide to LLM SEO covers the full picture, and listicle placements explains how getting into those lists works.
Not a tracker: placements in the lists AI Overviews cite
Rank Monthly is a different kind of product, so it is not in the ranking above. It books businesses into the listicles, newsletters and LinkedIn creator posts that buyers read and AI assistants quote, and keeps them there. A tracker shows the gap; Rank Monthly is one way to act on it.
A different approach: placements, not tracking
1
1. Rank Monthly
Best for: Acting on the third-party lists AI Overviews cite
You add your website, Rank Monthly reads what you sell, scans competitors and finds the searches you want to show up for, and you set a budget. It books you into list articles that already rank, new sponsored articles and LinkedIn posts. One ledger shows every placement, page visit, click and AI mention, month by month, with what was paid. It does not promise rankings or AI mentions: Google and the assistants decide.
Good
Places you on third-party pages, which trackers don't
Pay monthly only while the spot is live, or once for a new post
Payment held until the placement is verified live
Publisher numbers come from connected Search Console and Analytics
An AI Overviews tracker checks a list of Google searches or prompts on a schedule. It records whether Google shows an AI Overview, whether your site is cited or your brand is named, and which other pages are cited.
Is there a free AI Overview checker?
Yes. Ahrefs offers a free AI Overviews Tracker with no signup, and SE Ranking's AI Overviews page has a free checker for 5 keywords a day. You can also search by hand in a private window and note which pages the AI Overview cites.
Does Google Search Console show AI Overviews traffic?
Partly. Google says clicks and impressions from AI Overviews and AI Mode are included in the Search Console Performance report, under the "Web" search type. They are not reported separately, so you see the total, not the AI Overview share.
What is the difference between tracking AI Overviews and AI Mode?
AI Overviews are summaries above the normal results and appear only for some searches. AI Mode is a separate chat-style answer with its own cited sources. A brand can be cited in one and missing from the other. Peec AI and Advanced Web Ranking include AI Mode on their entry plans, SE Ranking has a separate AI Mode tracker, and Scrunch and Profound keep it for Enterprise.
How much does an AI Overviews tracker cost?
On 1 November 2026, entry prices ran from $29 a month (Otterly.AI Lite, 15 prompts) and €87.20 a month billed annually (SE Ranking Core) to $250 a month (Scrunch Core). Profound and seoClarity price by quote. Free checks from Ahrefs and SE Ranking cost nothing.
ChatGPT ads are paid, labeled units below some answers for Free and Go users, billed per 1,000 views or per click. OpenAI says ads never change the answer itself.
G2 reviews help, but they are no direct line into ChatGPT. g2.com is often cited, yet review sites got 3% of AI citations in one study, lists 40%. Keep reviews honest, and get into the lists.
The core GEO metrics are mention rate, citation share, AI share of voice, position, sentiment and accuracy, cited sources, AI referral traffic, prompt coverage and engine spread.
