We read each company's own pages on 1 November 2026, and every fact links to its source. Below you will find what the Semrush toolkit includes and costs, a table of six alternatives, how we compared them, and where Semrush is stronger. At the end we explain how Rank Monthly fits, which is not a tracker.
What is the Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit?
Semrush says the toolkit "shows you how brands appear in AI-generated answers" (Semrush knowledge base). It has six parts: Visibility Overview, Competitor Research, Prompt Research, Brand Performance, Prompt Tracking and an AI Search Site Audit.
Visibility Overview, Competitor Research and Prompt Research update daily, on a rolling basis.
Brand Performance updates weekly. Semrush runs a large set of common queries through LLMs like ChatGPT and Google AI Mode, then reads the answers for mentions, tone and attributes.
Prompt Tracking runs your own prompts daily. Semrush gives Google AI Mode and ChatGPT as example platforms.
The AI Search Site Audit checks up to 100 pages on demand, to see if AI systems can read your site.
Semrush also sells Semrush One, which bundles the SEO Toolkit and the AI Visibility Toolkit, and Enterprise AIO for large brands. Enterprise AIO says it can "Monitor 289M+ relevant LLM prompts globally" and connect AI visibility to GA4 or Adobe Analytics. It has no public price.
How much does the Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit cost?
The toolkit costs $99 a month on its own, per the knowledge base. That price covers one project, one domain for Brand Performance and 25 tracked prompts. Extra prompts and domains are add-ons. The knowledge base says the toolkit "does not offer a free trial".

Source: Semrush knowledge base, AI Visibility Toolkit, read 1 November 2026. Semrush's AI pricing page showed us the Base plan in euros from Europe: €94.94 a month per domain, billed annually. Check the price shown in your own country before you buy.
If you also need the SEO Toolkit, Semrush One is the bundle. The knowledge base lists its tracked prompts as 50 on Starter, 100 on Pro+ and 200 on Advanced. The pricing page we saw listed Advanced as unlimited, and showed Starter at €190 a month and Pro+ at €286 a month (monthly billing, in euros), with Advanced at a custom price. Ask Semrush for the price in your currency.
Which AI engines does Semrush track?
Semrush's own pages differ. The knowledge base gives ChatGPT and Google AI Mode as examples. The AI pricing page says "Mentions from ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini, and Perplexity". Neither page names Claude. If an engine matters to you, ask Semrush before you buy.
Why do people look for Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit alternatives?
25 prompts is a small sample. AI answers change from run to run, and one product line can need dozens of prompts.
Extra prompts add up. Each 50 more cost $60 a month on top of the $99.
One domain on Brand Performance. Agencies and multi-brand teams pay $99 a month for each extra domain.
Engine coverage is not clearly stated, and Claude is not named on the pages we read.
No free trial for the toolkit itself, per the knowledge base.
You may not use Semrush for SEO. Then a dedicated AI tracker can give more prompts for similar money.

How did we compare these tools?
Method: we compared each tool on four things, using only the vendor's own pages, read on 1 November 2026.
Public price: can you see what you will pay before a sales call?
Prompts at the entry plan: how many of your own questions are tracked.
Engines at the entry plan: ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude matter most for software buyers.
Fit: who the tool suits, based on seats, brands and add-ons.
We did not test data accuracy, and we report collection methods only as each vendor states them. Prices change often, so each entry links to the page we read. We make Rank Monthly, which is not a tracker, so it is not in the table.
Where is Semrush stronger?
One login for SEO and AI search. Semrush One puts keyword research, rank tracking, site audits and AI visibility in one plan.
Prompt Research. Semrush offers prompt research and competitor research inside the toolkit, with 1,000 daily Prompt Research queries.
An AI site audit is included, for up to 100 pages.
A clear path to enterprise. Enterprise AIO adds traffic analysis with GA4 or Adobe Analytics, log file checks for AI bots and an API.
If your team already lives in Semrush, the toolkit is the simplest add-on. If you need more prompts, named engines like Claude, or a free trial, an alternative fits better. For a wider list, see the best AI visibility tools and the best AEO tools.
Is Rank Monthly a Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit alternative?
No. Rank Monthly is not a tracker. Trackers show how often AI names you. Rank Monthly books businesses into the listicles, newsletters and LinkedIn creator posts that buyers read and AI assistants quote, and keeps them there. A team could use a tracker to see the gaps and a placement route to work on them.
Third-party pages matter. In Foundation and AirOps' 2026 study of 5.1 million AI responses for 50 B2B brands, 2.24% of AI citations on category questions went to the brand's own pages.
Publishers connect Search Console, Analytics and WordPress, so traffic numbers are measured, not typed in.
Brands add their website and set a budget. Matching runs on real data, and autopilot writes the entry and tracks every placement.
Brands pay monthly only while the spot is live, or once for a new post. Payment is held until the placement is verified live.
One ledger shows every placement, page visit, click and AI mention, month by month, with what was paid.
Watch out: Rank Monthly is in early access, with no customers or results yet. Only publishers who joined are available. Pricing on request during early access. Nobody can promise rankings or AI mentions.

Semrush's knowledge base says the AI Visibility Toolkit does not offer a free trial. Its pricing page shows a general seven-day Semrush trial, but does not say it covers this toolkit.
