Profound alternatives: 7 AI visibility tools compared (2026)
Profound tracks up to nine AI engines daily but shows no public price. Scrunch and Peec AI publish prices, AthenaHQ covers 11 engines, Evertune samples each prompt 100 times, and Ahrefs suits SEO teams.
Profound is an enterprise AI visibility platform that captures answers from up to nine engines and runs every prompt daily. It shows no public price. The best Profound alternatives are Scrunch and Peec AI for public pricing, AthenaHQ for 11 engines, Evertune for statistical sampling and Ahrefs Brand Radar for SEO teams.
We read each tool's own site on 31 October 2026. Prices and plans change, so every fact links to its source. At the end we explain where Profound is still the better choice, and why Rank Monthly is a different approach, not a like-for-like tracker.
What is Profound?
Profound tracks how AI assistants talk about your brand. Its Answer Engine Insights page says it captures answers "directly from the browser", not through API calls, and runs every tracked prompt daily. Enterprise covers up to nine engines: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, DeepSeek, Claude, Google AI Overviews and Exa Search.
Beyond tracking, the pricing page lists agents, AI Marketer credits, Prompt Volumes, ChatGPT Shopping, agent analytics, SSO/SAML and SOC 2. Profound raised a $180M Series D at a $1.8B valuation on 15 September 2026 and says it serves more than 1,000 enterprise brands (press release).
Why do people look for Profound alternatives?
No public price. The pricing page shows a free trial and a custom Enterprise plan. Its FAQ mentions an Agency Growth plan with 400 credits per client workspace, without a price.
The trial is narrow: 7 days, 50 prompts picked for your industry that you can't edit, three engines (ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Overviews), one region, and no exports or API.
Scope. Profound is a full marketing platform with agents and credits. A team that only wants to know whether ChatGPT names it may pay for more than it uses.
Sales-led buying. Enterprise packages are set with an account team, which takes longer than a self-serve signup.
If those points don't apply to you, Profound may still be the right pick. See "Where is Profound stronger?" below.

Mid-market and enterprise teams that want a public price
Scrunch is the nearest match for a mid-market or enterprise team. Every plan includes ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, AI Overviews and Meta. Starter is $250 a month billed annually ($300 month to month) with 350 custom and 1,000 industry prompts, 3 seats and a 7-day trial without a card. Enterprise adds SAML/OIDC SSO and a data API (Scrunch pricing). Sitecore acquired Scrunch on 3 June 2026 (Sitecore). Scrunch doesn't state on its site whether answers come from the interface or an API.
Peec AI: daily tracking you can buy today
Peec AI's docs say it uses UI scraping, like Profound's browser capture (Peec docs). Starter is $95 a month for 50 prompts, Pro $245 for 150, Advanced $495 for 350, with unlimited seats and citation analytics on every plan (Peec pricing). The trade-off: self-serve plans run 3 active models chosen from ChatGPT, AI Mode, AI Overviews, Copilot, Gemini and Naver AI. Perplexity and Claude are Enterprise only.
AthenaHQ: the most engines below Enterprise
AthenaHQ Starter costs $295 a month and covers 11 models: ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, Grok, DeepSeek, Meta AI and Mistral. You get 3,600 credits a month, where 1 credit is 1 AI response, with unlimited prompts and seats. It suggests on-page and off-page actions, and a free Essential plan has 300 credits (AthenaHQ pricing).
Evertune: for teams that care about margin of error
Evertune samples each prompt 100 times per model and draws prompts from a panel of more than 150 million user prompts. It claims a margin of error of about 2 points (Evertune). Pro is $800 a month billed annually with 11 models, 25 articles a month and Partner Connect; Starter is $60 a month without statistical significance (Evertune pricing). It also runs ChatGPT ads for 8% to 10% of media spend.
Promptwatch: UI scraping at a lower entry
Promptwatch says it collects data by scraping the interfaces people use every day (Promptwatch). Essential is $95 a month for 50 prompts and 6,000 responses, Professional $245 adds content writing, and Business $579 tracks up to hourly. Every plan says "Track all models" (Promptwatch pricing). The site lists offices in Amsterdam and New York.
Trakkr: eight models without add-on fees
Trakkr checks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Grok, DeepSeek and Meta AI daily on every paid plan, with no per-model fees. Growth is $100 a month ($83 billed yearly) for one brand and 50 prompts. It also writes articles and pushes approved fixes (Trakkr pricing). It suits a small team more than an enterprise rollout.
Ahrefs Brand Radar: if you already pay for Ahrefs
Profound sells Prompt Volumes; Ahrefs answers the same "what do people ask?" question with an index of more than 519 million prompts built from its keyword database. Custom prompts start at $50 a month, the AI Visibility Index is $199 a month, and prompt tracking is free on paid Ahrefs plans (Ahrefs Brand Radar).
Where is Profound stronger?
Coverage: up to nine engines, including DeepSeek and Exa Search, with daily runs.
Method: it states plainly that it captures the front end, not the API. Most alternatives here don't say how they collect answers.
Platform: agents, Prompt Volumes, ChatGPT Shopping and agent analytics in one contract.
Enterprise needs: SSO/SAML, SOC 2, all-time data history, and dedicated support with a 24-hour SLA.
Off-site route: Profound's PartnerStack nodes match cited domains against PartnerStack's publisher network for Enterprise customers, and PartnerStack's Content Marketplace takes citation reports from Profound.
If you need all of that and have the budget, an alternative will feel thin. If you need a public price, a quick start or a narrower tool, the options above fit better. For a wider list, see the best AI visibility tools for B2B SaaS.
Is Rank Monthly a Profound alternative?
Not like for like. Profound and the tools above measure where AI names you. Rank Monthly acts on one part of what they find: the third-party lists AI quotes. It books businesses into listicles, newsletters and LinkedIn creator posts that buyers read and AI assistants quote, and keeps them there.
That matters because most citations for category questions point to pages a brand doesn't own. In Foundation and AirOps' 2026 study of 5.1 million AI responses for 50 B2B SaaS brands, 2.24% of AI citations on category questions went to the brand's own pages.
Brands add their website, set a budget and get matched with publishers on real data. Publishers connect Search Console, Analytics and WordPress, so numbers are measured, not typed in.
One ledger shows every placement, page visit, click and AI mention, month by month, with what was paid. That is a report on your placements, not a full prompt-tracking dashboard.
You pay monthly only while the spot is live, or once for a new post. Payment is held until the placement is verified live.
Rank Monthly is in early access: there are no customers or results yet, only publishers who joined are available, and pricing is on request. Nobody can promise rankings or AI mentions.
Profound doesn't publish a price. On 31 October 2026 its pricing page showed a free 7-day trial with 50 fixed prompts on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, and an Enterprise plan with custom pricing set with its account team.
What is the cheapest alternative to Profound?
Of the tools we checked, Ahrefs Brand Radar custom prompts start at $50 a month, Evertune Starter is $60 a month, and Peec AI and Promptwatch start at $95 a month. AthenaHQ also has a free Essential plan with 300 credits.
Which Profound alternative covers the most engines?
AthenaHQ Starter covers 11 models for $295 a month, including Claude, Grok, DeepSeek, Meta AI and Mistral. Trakkr covers 8 models from $100 a month. Scrunch covers 7 AI surfaces on every plan.
Does Profound use APIs or the real ChatGPT interface?
Profound says it captures answers directly from the browser and focuses on front-end user experiences rather than API calls. Peec AI and Promptwatch also say they scrape the user interface.
Is Rank Monthly a cheaper Profound?
No. Rank Monthly is not a tracker. It books businesses into listicles, newsletters and LinkedIn posts that AI assistants quote, and reports AI mentions in its ledger. It is in early access, with pricing on request.
